Using pen on paper would place their ideas outside the brain, being no more in need to memorize them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fast forward two and a half millennia, our reality has strongly shifted:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of fearing handwriting, many researchers and educators <\/span><b style=\"font-size: 22px; letter-spacing: 0.5px;\">question the permanent use of typing on keyboards and screens.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Leading research would have left Socrates stunned:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2705 We <\/span><b>remember better<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when writing by hand. Pen on paper activates more senses and enables \u201cmore hooks for our memory and encoding\u201d.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2705 Handwriting asks us to be attentive and think about \u201cwhat and how\u201d we write. Hence, we spell more accurately, <\/span><b>learn more<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and get <\/span><b>smarter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the end.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2705 \u201cOur hands have a unique relationship with our brain when it comes to <\/span><b>composing thoughts, ideas and concepts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d research says. We tend to write more words, faster and express more ideas<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when creating pieces by hand versus keyboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your pulse might be above average at the office by now! Inner voices of doubt or judgment might claim: \u201cNah, that\u2019s not for me! Typing is so much easier, faster and practical in my busy days.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being a lefthander myself, I struggled from day one with messy ink and pens &#8211; leaving their unwanted marks everywhere. Hence, I grew fond of my keyboard too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, the moment I opened my first <\/span><b>MOYU notebook<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I got curious to test my personal<\/span><b> Top-3 Habits <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for work in handwriting. The following habits are for daily use, helping you <\/span><b>work with more ease<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>HABIT 1\ufe0f\u20e3: NAVIGATE your work day (with more focus and ease)<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our mind can be our best friend, but also our worst enemy. Hence, getting distracted and experiencing negative mind-chatter (due to e.g. judgment, anger, doubt) stops 4 out of 5 people in a team from using their full (mental) potential. This leaves bosses, colleagues, clients and our loved ones behind confused, disappointed and even resentful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a trained expert in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Positive Thinking<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and letting go of (unconscious) harmful habits, I know that our busy lives and packed work schedules distract us from what truly matters. Hence, to navigate your work days with more focus and ease, pick your <\/span><b>MOYU notebook <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and test this habit:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#1 After you sit down at your work desk in the morning, briefly check your today\u2019s calendar or task-list.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#2 Then close your eyes and take 3 intentional breaths, wiggle your toes like playing the piano and stretch your arms up with joy.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#3 Keep your eyes closed and ask yourself: <\/span><b>What\u2019s truly important today?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Make notes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#4 Then close your eyes again, take 3 intentional breaths and ask yourself: <\/span><b>What just seems to be important but isn\u2019t, and I can let go off?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Make notes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use this inner wisdom to navigate your work day! Remember and focus on what truly matters. Let go of the outer or inner voices distracting you.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>HABIT 2\ufe0f\u20e3: REGROUP your work day (feeling ready for tomorrow)<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next to many researchers, I\u2019m not a fan of making big strategies and plans &#8211; as we mostly hustle executing them. Our life, business sectors, companies, teams, etc. have to be navigated instead and towards \u201cthe North star\u201d. Doing that, it greatly helps to be structured and organized.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of my habits to stay organized at work, got inspired by \u201cGetting Things Done\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#1 After you finish your last meeting or task of the work day, you review your today\u2019s schedule in your <\/span><b>MOYU notebook<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> asking yourself:<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is done, complete? Celebrate yourself!<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is <\/span><b>incomplete<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, needs processing? Schedule a time when to do it in your <\/span><b>notebook <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">calendar. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What did you <\/span><b>learn <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">today? Cheer to yourself and make notes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">#2 Then screen your upcoming work day:<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is already prepared? Cheer to yourself!.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What <\/span><b>needs to be prepared<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? Schedule a time when to do it in your <\/span><b>notebook <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">calendar. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Relax <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and start into your evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>HABIT 3\ufe0f\u20e3: Grow with GRATITUDE (closing a day with positive energy)<\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On many work days we might not have gotten any positive response. No kind feedback, such as \u201cWell done!\u201d or a simple \u201cThanks, that\u2019s helpful!\u201d. Feeling busy or pressured due to end-to-end meetings, big agendas or over-committing again, we might lack the head-space. But that\u2019s not all!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not training our empathy-muscle is mostly the matter. Studies among CEOs from globally leading companies show how troublesome it is for leaders to show self-empathy. Being very goal-oriented and success-driven, too many become high-functional. (Self-)empathy gets cut out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence, training our very own<\/span><b> gratitude-muscle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> becomes self-empowering, calms your scarcity-mindset and helps shift into abundance! Test this favorite evening habit of mine:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After I slip into bed at night, I screen my work day from morning to evening and ask myself \u201c<\/span><b>What am I grateful for today?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. Make notes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u270d\ufe0f<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As our days are rich with experience, so many small to big moments of gratefulness can show! I\u2019m mostly grateful for having nourished myself with home-made and healthy food, having been present and curious with my clients and loved ones, and having done one thing that felt unpleasant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creating a gratitude-practice with your<\/span><b> MOYU notebook<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will spark positive energy and ease to fall asleep every night! <\/span><b>Bonus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: If by any means you feel grateful for a colleague, your team, a business partner etc., use your notes to share this positive feedback with them!<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behavior Change Expert<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Habit Coach<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I chose the above habits for you.
